Big Data, Small World
Using apps, streaming music, sharing content in the cloud - we take this for granted, but without cross-border data flows it is not possible.
Digital economy and digital communication do not work without a free flow of data across national borders. This great dependence stands in stark contrast to the behaviour of official Switzerland in trade agreements. Is this passive position becoming a disadvantage? Should Switzerland proactively work on new rules so that they are also for the good of the Swiss economy and all of us?
After an input presentation by Mira Burri, University of Lucerne and project manager NRP 75, she discussed the topic with Philippe Lionnet, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, and Marc Holitscher, Microsoft Switzerland, moderated by Olivia Kühni.
This event was a co-production of the Museum of Communication and the National Research Programme NRP 75 "Big Data".
